The most renowned, Parassinikadavu Sri Muthappan temple aka the Parassini Madappura Sree Muthappan temple is regarded as one of the most sacred pilgrim sites in north Kerala. Situated about 20 km from Kannur, the temple is situated on the banks of the Valapattnam river. The main deity of the temple is Sri Muthappan, a combination of two Hindu deities – Thiruvappana (Lord Vishnu) and Vellatom (Lord Shiva). A much-noted fact about this temple is that, in spite of being a Hindu temple, it attracts people from all walks of life, irrespective of religion or caste.

Vismaya is an amusement water theme park near Taliparamba in Kannur, Kerala. The park is developed and run by Malabar Tourism Development Co-operative Limited. It is situated near to the famous Muthappan temple in Parassinikadavu.

Munderi Kadavu Bird Sanctuary is a Biodiversity rich wetland area which is a suburb of Kannur. This area is famous for migratory birds. Munderi Kadavu is a part of KatampallyWetlands which comprises of nearly 4000 acres of marshland, one used for paddy cultivation known as ‘Kaippad’. A recent study at Munderi Kadavu describes the place as a ‘biodiversity treasure house.
Pazhassi Dam, named after the legendary King Pazhassi Raja, is another sought-after tourist spot that is known for its scenic beauty. It is located about 37 kms east of Kannur and is constructed across the Valapattanam River. The calm and serene setting of the dam draws many visitors here. The DTPC provides boating facilities, and there is a beautiful garden adjacent to it that adds to its charm.
Pazhassi Raja Smrithi Mandiram, located at Pazhassi, Mattannur in Kannur, is a museum dedicated to Pazhassi Raja at his ancestral place. Constructed in the model of Kuthambalam [traditional theatre mostly found in Hindu temples], this museum is built above a pond, which was once part of the palace complex of Pazhassi Raja.

Americanpara Waterfall is a future tourist place situated in Kannur district’s western ghat. Naturally formed beautiful Waterfall is the main attraction
here. If your goal is to take a dip under the waterfall, feel free to come here. The place gets flooded during the monsoons.
